I love the deep blue-green in these apples and the echo of that color in the background....it reminds me of the ocean. I've heard of bobbing apples.....but swimming apples? Yep...
It has been a long, long time since I have painted and posted anything.....too long for me to be away from painting! Thought I'd warm up with these crisp apples. I cannot find my camera so these were taken with my phone....I'll redo them when I can get better shots.
By the way, I have been working in my pottery studio...check out my jewelry page for clay pendants! Coming soon....handmade plates.

Well, the only thing in common with all these paintings is the size. Just thought I'd post some various paintings I've done over the past few weeks. An odd combination, I know.
During painting class at Cindy Saadeh's studio last Thursday night, we painted the beautiful handmade wooden bowl of green apples. It inspired me to try more bowls and cups....a nice break from all the fruit and veggies!
I lost a spotlight in my studio so these photos didn't turn out very well. But I thought I'd paint some of these sunny clementines before they get eaten.
My husband put these strips of molding on the wall for my paintings to dry. It's fun to have something new in the studio and wet paintings off the floor!
Okay...so I'm trying to break the mold. This is an old photo I took during Christmas break at Cocoa Beach.
I've been using cerulean blue almost exclusively on my palette and today I switched to ultramarine....I think it softened the colors a bit more. Add the red tomatoes and yellow-green plate....you can't ask for a more "primary" statement :)
