Just Apples

11 x 14
I think apples are one of my favorite fruits to paint.  In an odd way they have a very geometric shape.  I placed them on top of an organic handmade ceramic plate....just to juxtapose.

Pear Study

It's been a while since I've painted anything

so I thought I'd start with a study of pears.

I'll paint them until they need to be eaten!

Opposites Attract

A while ago I painted a very small painting of a red apple in the green bowl.  I liked it so much I decided to add another apple and paint another one only larger.

I just love the complementary colors.

I don't know what keeps drawing me to cherries...

they just seem to be a happy subject on these cold winter days.

I wanted to experiment with the same lighting, position and background but just change the subject matter.  All these pairs of fruit reminded me of the animals marching two by two onto Noah's ark.

It is great to get back in the comfort zone.

We were gone for a while over Christmas and I tried my best at beach landscapes.  Not one of them will get posted....oh well.

I took a lot of photos so I'll try again when I get the nerve up.

After spending some time at the beach and seeing the beautiful

-it reminded me of coastal Georgia:)

I got inspired to try some landscapes.
